IAC Building

I’ve been past this building a few times, and finally got around to walking over to the far west of Chelsea to photograph the IAC building…

Designed by Frank Gehry, its ‘curtain walls’ are certainly different.

Out of 1,437 glass panels on the ‘curtain wall’ – 1,349 of them are unique in their shape and degree of twist. The ‘sugar coated’ look comes from the baked on ceramic dot patterns on the glass.

The photo was taken with a tilt shift lens – in this case the ts-e 24mm (Canon) forcing the narrow area of focus on the building.

This one frame stood out to me because of the way that the clouds on the left appear to be going through the building… blurring the boundaries between what is sky, and what is reflection.
